Local Camera BackupPrivacy policy
Local Camera Backup is a personal, self-hosted application operated by its owner.
Google account and Drive access
The application uses Google's limited drive.file permission. It receives authorization tokens, a Google account permission identifier, and the selected destination folder's identifier and name. It uses this information to maintain the owner's connection, validate the destination, upload new saved captures, and move selected app-uploaded copies to Trash when the owner requests and authorizes Drive deletion. It does not request access to the owner's entire Drive.
Storage and sharing
Authorization credentials, destination settings, upload status, and temporary upload copies are stored on the owner's server. Copies of enabled captures are sent over HTTPS to the owner's selected Google Drive folder. Access to those copies follows that folder's Google Drive sharing settings. Camera media and Google user data are not sold, used for advertising, or used to train generalized AI models by this application.
Retention and control
The owner can pause uploads, disconnect Google Drive, and delete local media. Disconnecting removes the server's stored Google credentials. To revoke the Google authorization grant, the owner can remove the application from their Google account's third-party connections. Deleting local media keeps its Google Drive copy unless the owner selects the Drive deletion option and enters the separate deletion password. Individual deletions move matching app-uploaded copies to Trash. Delete all scans the configured folder for images and videos accessible to this app, including backups no longer stored locally; it excludes new captures after the request. Deletions retry in the background. Cloud copies can also be managed directly in Drive. An upload already in progress may finish when paused or disconnected. Upload queue records remain in the private server data directory until the owner removes that application data.
Remote access and sign-in
The camera app requires its owner’s password to access camera controls and saved media. Password hashes and session records are stored on the owner’s server. Where direct remote access is enabled, the owner’s server provides HTTPS and Cloudflare provides DNS. Camera requests and video are served directly by the owner’s server. The app does not include advertising or analytics trackers. These privacy and terms pages are public.
The application's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
